Carolyn Greene

RNLI: Nathan Williams

Chief People Officer

Carolyn was appointed as Chief People Officer in May 2025. She is no stranger to the RNLI having been a key member of the RNLI People Directorate since 2018, most recently as Performance and Continuous Improvement Manager as part of the People Leadership Team.

She has over 25 years of experience working in people departments with extensive skills in change management, account management and business development across the public, private and third-party sectors. Prior to joining the RNLI, she spent 10 years at Capita Plc, where latterly she was responsible for the delivery of ten multi-disciplined HR contracts with customers across multiple sites. Carolyn also had an impressive career with Barclays Bank where she was rapidly promoted through the organisation working across a number of high-level HR projects.

As Chief People Officer, Carolyn leads the People Strategy, inspiring a ‘one crew’ multi-disciplined team to deliver the RNLI 2040 vision. The people of the RNLI are and will remain its greatest asset. With the nature of lifesaving at sea changing, it is vital we respond and adapt as effectively as we possibly can to fulfil our core purpose of saving lives. We must remain receptive to progressive ideas and how we can better the quality of our service, the safety of our people, and the way we operate.

Outside work, Carolyn has a busy family life with her husband and three boys and enjoys walking and spending time with friends and family. She even manages to find the time to volunteer for the RNLI, having been part of the Poole and District Fundraising Branch since 2021.
