The Shore Crew launched the Atlantic 85 lifeboat B940 Penny J.

Michael Avril was at the helm with crew Michael Percy, Christie Avril and Shona Richardson. They made haste to Holy Island with the sea state calm and clear weather.

On arrival the crew assessed the situation, the vessel a motor boat had been heading north to Peterhead and had become entangled in lobster pot ropes. The crew then released the vessel from the ropes.

Helm Michael Avril then made the decision that the safest option was to tow the vessel back to Berwick-upon-Tweed Dock. This would also ensure that it could be assessed for any further damage.

The lifeboat and crew made their way back to the lifeboat station at 5.17pm, where the lifeboat was washed, refuelled and made ready for service.
