you turned out in your hundreds to The Station was open from 11am to 4 pm on Sunday 3 August 2025, our one crew were out, the public were out not forgetting the sun was out.

Hundreds of people flocked to the station at Cart Gap to meet the whole Crew and See Our Boat ‘Russell Pickering’ a D Class Lifeboat. Enjoyed Live Music from Jay and Ross and Norwich Ukelele Society. The BBQ went down a storm alongside the refreshments, fun was had with lots of games for all.

You all had the chance to meet our One Crew, boat crew, shore Crew, visits team and found out more of the History of the station, Water Safety Team and RNLI Lifeguards talked to many families about water safety, throw line use, many Activities to help you have fun near water and return home safe and well.

Rachael Kirkham out Lifeboat Operations Manager said ‘thank you all for your wonderful help and engaging with our community and visitors today. We have raised just short of £1200 today and the shop £744.00. #One crew operations/water safety / visits /retail and all our lovely families. Give yourselves all a huge cheer as you’ve raised a phenomenal amount of money. Small but mighty!!’

The whole station would like to say THANK YOU to all of you who attended this event, locals’ visitors and hope you all enjoy yourselves.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,700 lives.
