Beaumaris Inshore Atlantic 85 Lifeboat 'Annette Mary Liddington'

The Beaumaris Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington with her volunteer crew, launched in breeze weather conditions and proceeded to commence a search of the area.

Initially it was believed the craft was travelling towards Bangor Pier however when the lifeboat arrived no sign of the vessel could be seen at that location, so a search pattern was commenced. A jet ski was located ashore at Porth y Wrach. slip and after the Coastguard has consulted further with the first informant, this jet ski fitted the description of the reported craft.

The Bangor Coastguard Rescue Teams had also been tasked to this incident; and they now made their way from Bangor to Menai Bridge to locate the owner of the jet ski, Meanwhile the lifeboat was a released by the Coastguard at 2.43 to return to her station arriving at 3.25 pm to be refuelled and cleaned and made ready for her next service call.

A RNLI spokesperson said:

‘The first informant ashore did the correct thing in informing the Coastguard of their concern, even though in this instance the jet ski and its occupants managed to make their own way to the shore.’
