Fowey RNLI volunteers assist in rescue of trapped person

Lifeboats News Release

On Tuesday July 1, Falmouth coastguard requested that Fowey launch their D class lifeboat to assist Mevagissey and St Austell coastguard rescue teams to help recover a casualty who was stuck in a ravine of the cliffs at Silvermines beach near Porthpean.

Graham Middlewood, in his first shout as a D class helm, made best speed to the location and positioned the lifeboat so the casualty and a member of the coastguard could come onboard. The casualty had been checked over by the coastguard and was handed over to the Mevagissey coastguard team on Porthpean beach.
