The ‘Peter & Ann Setten’ Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat was launched at 6.20pm in a light north westerly wind and arrived on the scene within six minutes. The jet ski with two people on board, both wearing lifejackets and with a means of calling for help, was launched from Black Rock Sands and experienced engine failure in Abersoch bay.

The helm assessed the situation and made the decision that undertaking a tow was necessary and the safest way to assist the casualties. After establishing a safe tow the casualty vessel was taken to Abersoch main beach and handed over to the local Coastguard team.

The lifeboat returned to the lifeboat station at 7.07pm where it was then washed down, refuelled and left ready for service.

If you get into difficulty or spot someone else in trouble dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
