Alongside Ayr and Ardrossan coastguard teams and Police resources, the volunteer lifeboat crew launched Shannon class all-weather lifeboat RNLB Roy Barker VI to search an area to the south of Saltcoats towards Barassie.

As the search was underway, information came through from the Coastguard Teams that they had located the missing person so the lifeboat was stood down by Belfast Coastguard.

The lifeboat then returned to station where it made ready for service with the assistance of the shore crew.
