The Prideaux-Brune family have supported Padstow lifeboat and crew since its inception. Peter’s wonderful generosity of spirit was shown in abundance, and he always described Padstow RNLI crew as ‘the best of the best’.

Just last year, as part of the RNLI's 200th anniversary celebrations, Peter and his family very generously shared the beautiful grounds of Prideaux Place for a celebration event which saw approximately 1,700 people gather for an evening of entertainment, raising a staggering £44,000. That evening, we also had the honour of presenting Peter Prideaux-Brune with his long service medal.

Padstow RNLI Chairman John Stephens said, Peter, a lifelong supporter of Padstow Lifeboat, was the first to personally praise the volunteer crew for their dedication and heroism, which was always so warmly appreciated. A sudden loss, but we have long memories and he will be sorely missed”

The Presidency will continue in the family tradition with Peter’s son Nicholas Prideaux-Brune taking on this role, as Peter did from his father.

Coxswain Richard Pitman shares, “Our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Peter Prideaux-Brune. This is a huge loss to our community. Our station's flag is currently flying at half-mast.”
