Recovery of Largs lifeboat

The casualty vessel was a diving boat which had two people on board and three divers in the water. It had been reported that the boat had lost communications with the divers.

The lifeboat quickly launched and made best speed to the given location north of the Gantock Rocks.

On scene the Largs RNLI lifeboat joined the Helensburgh RNLI lifeboat who had already successfully recovered the divers.

The casualty vessel was able to secure a tow with a nearby yacht and with no further people in danger Largs lifeboat was stood down by HM Coastguard. They returned to the lifeboat station where the lifeboat was cleaned, fuelled and made ready for service.

If you get into difficulty at sea or along the coast, or spot someone else in trouble, always dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
