New crew member welcomed at RNLI New Brighton!
Everyone at RNLI New Brighton would like to send huge congratulations to volunteer Crew Member Ben McGinn and his partner Alice on the birth of their first child, Rosie.
Ben, a Marine Engineer in the Merchant Navy, first joined the RNLI crew in 2018 alongside his brother, Thomas McGinn. The brothers volunteered with their dad, Mark McGinn, who was already part of the crew at the time. Ben’s mum, Sharon, also contributes to the station as a Shop Volunteer.
With the arrival of Rosie – and her cousin Harry, born in 2024 – Ben and Thomas are helping to grow the next generation of potential New Brighton crew members! Alice, a Brewer at Neptune Brewery, has long been passionate about her craft and is a familiar face at station events. As part of the station family, she’s already introduced Rosie to most of the crew, and plans are afoot to size her up for her first pair of wellies and a muster number.
All of us at New Brighton RNLI send our very best wishes to Ben, Alice, and Rosie as they begin this exciting chapter as a new family.
Lee Arnall Lifeboat Operations Manager said:
'New Brighton Lifeboat Station, along with all RNLI lifeboat stations, are one big family, so to hear the fantastic news of the arrival of Rosie as a new member of our RNLI family, for our volunteers feels just as important, as if it was your own.
'We are absolutely thrilled for Alice and Ben and look forward to welcoming Rosie into the station volunteer family.'
