Presentation of the charity funds in January

On Wednesday 9 July 2025, members of Burnham & Berrow Golf Club were invited to the Burnham-on-Sea RNLI lifeboat station, to watch the Wednesday training launch, followed by a small get-together at the lifeboat station, to thank past club Captain, Andrew Fisher, for choosing Burnham-on-Sea RNLI as his charity for the year.

Andrew’s wife Julie Fisher (Also a RNLI fundraising volunteer) says; ‘Unfortunately, not everyone involved in the charity year were able to join station crew, however, alongside Andrew were myself, Jerry Hodge (Chairman, Burnham & Berrow Golf Club), Fiona Hodge (member), Jane Harries (member and who played a pivotal part in our fundraising) and David Harries. Of course, our fundraising efforts would not have been possible without the help of Burnham-on-Sea RNLI Fundraising Team; with thanks to Denise Gocher (Fundraising Chair) and Ann Rose who were able to join us yesterday evening.

‘The golf club was presented with a framed picture of Burnham-on-Sea lifeboat, Doris Day and Brian, which will be hung in the club house as an acknowledgement of the funds we raised in support of such a worthwhile and local charity.’

Burnham-on-Sea RNLI’s recently appointed Chairman Nick Pople adds; ‘This is a most generous amount that will help our lifeboats continue to save lives at sea. Thank you to all those who helped raise the money.’
