Beaumaris Lifeboat tasked to four people in the water from a sunken vessel:
At 1.54 pm on Monday 28 July 2025 the volunteer crew members of the Beaumaris lifeboat received a launch page from H.M. Coastguard relating to a report of four people in the water from a sinking vessel by Puffin Island.
The Beaumaris Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington with her volunteer crew launched and in calm weather conditions proceeded to the given location.
When the lifeboat arrived, the casualties had been recovered from the water by another craft; consequently the lifeboat transferred a casualty care trained crew member to the other vessel so they could monitor the four people removed from the water.
The Lifeboat then escorted the passenger vessel to the pier at Beaumaris whilst the lifeboat crew member remained aboard that vessel. Once at the pier the casualties transferred into the care of the Lifeboat shore crew and the Penmon Mobile Coastguard team. whilst the lifeboat was tasked to another incident.
The casualties then being passed over into the care of the waiting ambulance personal for transfer to hospital, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
A RNLI spokesman said: ‘The swift reporting of the situation to the Coastguard meant our volunteer lifeboat crew were able to reach the vessel quickly, assess the situation and take the best course of action to prevent the situation worsening. We would also like to express our thanks and appreciation to the crew of the other vessels who came to assist especially the passenger carrying craft who recovered them from the water.’
