Largs Lifeboat Launching on Service

Within minutes of the tasking coming in from the UK Coastguard, the volunteer crew had launched Largs’ Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat ‘R A Wilson’ and were making best speed to the search area.

On arrival the volunteer crew were asked by UK Coastguard to begin a Creeping Line ahead search from in a Westerly direction, whilst Helensburgh Lifeboat who had also been tasked, started their search further to the west in a southerly direction.

After a crew change, variations of patterns, and almost eight hours on the water searching, Largs lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.

Our thoughts are very much with those involved.
