Largs RNLI diverted from training
On Wednesday 18 June 2025 the volunteer crew at Largs RNLI were diverted from their regular Wednesday training session to assist with a person in the water at Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal.
The lifeboat made best speed to the location where they were able to locate the casualty and, with assistance from the local Coastguard Rescue Team, they were recovered onto the lifeboat.
The casualty was then transferred to the shore and handed over into the care of the local Coastguard Rescue Team and other partner agencies.
Largs lifeboat was then stood down by HM Coastguard, refuelled and made ready for service.
If you get into difficulty, or see someone at risk or in trouble at the coast or in the sea, you should always dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
