Largs RNLI needs you
As we approach the summer holidays the volunteers at Largs RNLI are starting to get very busy.
On Friday 20 June 2025, the volunteers at Largs RNLI launched their Atlantic 85 Inshore lifeboat, the ‘R.A. Wilson’ again this week following a busy period of callouts.
The launch was in response to concerns raised from members of the public regarding a yacht moored in an area for some time off Toward.
The volunteers aboard the lifeboat located the yacht and assessed it was anchored correctly and was of no hazard to shipping, with the boat being left as found.
The lifeboat then returned to the station where it was re-fuelled and made ready for service.
No two shouts are the same at Largs RNLI and we would love to have you on board as a volunteer.
We are currently recruiting for a variety of volunteer roles including boat crew.
The RNLI provides first-class training and equipment, guidance and support to all volunteers, from volunteer lifeboat crew to shop volunteers.
Becoming a volunteer is a great chance to play a crucial part in helping to save lives at sea. If you are enthusiastic then you could be an important part of the crew at Largs RNLI, contributing towards the future of the charity and inspiring the next generation of crew.
Please send your details with a phone number to [email protected] and someone will be in contact with you.
