At 1.54am on Sunday (22 June) morning, the crew were tasked to investigate a vessel reported to be drifting in the vicinity of Lawrenny Quay.
The volunteer lifeboat crew launched and began making their way to Lawrenny, arriving on scene around 25 minutes later. A search of the immediate area was conducted before the Y boat was deployed to search up the Cresswell River as far as Cresswell Quay, whilst the lifeboat focused on the Carew River and main moorings at Lawrenny.
With nothing found initially the crew then extended their search up the Cleddau as far as Llangwm, but with search conditions favourable and nothing found the crew were stood down. Broad Haven and Tenby Coastguard Rescue Teams were also on scene conducting shore based searches. The lifeboat was back alongside her berth and readied for further service by 4.20am.
That same evening, the crew also launched at 5.23pm to assist in a multi-agency incident alongside the police and Dale and St Govan’s Coastguard Rescue Teams. As the crew were preparing to launch, the tasking was subsequently cancelled when the incident was resolved by the police.
At 6.44pm on Wednesday 18 June, the crew were paged whilst at the station conducting training, to investigate a report of two 12-year-olds in the water off Wards Pier. The lifeboat was soon underway and on scene shortly after. Apart from a couple of fishermen on the pier who were spoken to, there was no sign of anybody in difficulty.
Following a cursory search of the area working in conjunction with Dale Coastguard Rescue Team and police officers, the lifeboat was stood down. The crew were back alongside the jetty by 7.30pm.
Two days prior, at 10.19am on Monday 16 June, the crew were tasked to assist a 37ft yacht with three persons onboard suffering from engine failure, 3 miles west south-west of St Ann’s Head. The vessel was currently under sail, but required assistance into the Haven.
The lifeboat launched and was on scene 20 minutes later. After an assessment of the situation, and with the vessel posing a hazard to navigation it was decided to pass a tow. With a tow rigged, a course was set for the pontoon at Hobbs Point. Following a tow of around 90 minutes, the vessel was transferred into an alongside tow and left safely alongside the pontoon.
The lifeboat was stood down and the crew returned to station where the boat was readied for further service by 1pm.
The day before (Sunday 15 June) at 3.08pm, the crew were paged to assist the police with an ongoing incident. However not long after the crew were paged, the launch was subsequently cancelled as the incident had been ressolved.
