‘Rocking’ in aid of the RNLI in Exmouth
Gary Noble’s life was saved by RNLI lifeguards whilst he was on holiday in North Devon. Gary now volunteers as a fundraiser for Exmouth RNLI and has organised a fund raising event in aid of the RNLI at Exmouth Railway Club.
The fundraiser will "rock" Exmouth on 8th August 2025 at Exmouth Railway Club from 7pm. There will be live music from Snake Eyes classic rock band, the famous Railway Club's chilli and a raffle. The event is £10 pay on the night.
This is Gary’s story and why he is passionate about raising funds for the RNLI.
During a family holiday in North Devon, Gary suffered a cardiac arrest whilst body boarding at Woolacombe Beach. Another surfer witnessed Gary collapse and become unconscious, they pulled him out of the water and raised the alarm.
RNLI lifeguards were quickly on scene and gave Gary CPR and utilised the defibrillator from the RNLI lifeguard vehicle. The lifeguards continued to provide medical assistance to Gary until the arrival of the paramedics.
Gary’s wife, Amanda, said: 'if it wasn’t for the lifeguards on Woolacombe beach, I would have been a widow at the age of 42 and our son aged 6, would have lost his dad. Without doubt, if the lifeguards hadn't done what they did, and done it so well, there would have been a very different outcome that day.'
Make sure you put the date in your diary and help raise money to support the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea.
