The ilb was then refuelled and made ready for service by 11.00pm.

Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat operations manager Steve Pounder said 'A great effort by the volunteer crew meant we were able to launch both boats to take part in the search.
It was good to work alongside our colleagues at Redcar and the Coastguard.'

Sea conditions at the time were described as moderate to rough with good visibility.
