The day promises to be a lively celebration of sailing, open to both club members and visitors. Moorings are available for visiting boats, and the clubhouse will be open, serving a selection of food and drink to spectators and participants alike. Whether you're taking part in the race or soaking in the riverside atmosphere, all are welcome to enjoy the day whilst raising vital funds for the RNLI.

Tower RNLI's Sam Aggas said, ‘Earlier this month our flanking station Gravesend RNLI launched to aid a GYC member who had broken their ribs whilst sailing near Dartford, they were then provided casualty care and aided back to Greenwich Yacht Club, it’s events like this that fund the training for our volunteers to be able to provide this life saving work.’

Founded in 1908, Greenwich Yacht Club has long been a hub for London’s sailing community. Nestled between the O2 Arena and the Thames Barrier, it remains a unique club with on-water moorings and a rich tradition of promoting water sports in the capital.

The event also honours the commitment of the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station, the busiest lifeboat station in the UK. Since its launch in 2002, Tower Lifeboat crews have kept central London’s tidal waters safe, playing a vital role in safety and rescue on the Thames.

Join GYC on Sunday 1st June from 9am for a spectacular day on the river. For more information or to reserve a mooring, visit greenwichyachtclub.co.uk or contact the club directly.
