The Mumbles RNLI Raft Race returns this summer
The ever-popular Mumbles RNLI Raft Race returns to Knab Rock on Saturday 16 August 2025, all in support of the lifesaving charity.
The event has become a firm favourite in the local calendar, drawing teams from across south Wales to build their own rafts and race across the bay. Expect imaginative designs, costumes and plenty of good-natured competition.
In 2024, the event raised over £10,000 for the RNLI. This year we are aiming even higher, with plenty of space available for teams and spectators, the 2025 race is hoped to be better than ever!
New for this year, the recently finished Mumbles Prom offers great viewing points along the bay, making it easy for families to enjoy the action from the shore.
Tony Bowen, Mumbles RNLI crew member and event organiser, said:
'The raft race is a brilliant day for the whole community. It’s great to see everyone come together to have fun, dress up and support. Every penny raised helps us continue saving lives at sea. We’re looking forward to seeing what wild and wonderful rafts turn up this year!'
The Mumbles Raft Race is a great way to support your local lifeboat crews and enjoy a fun-filled summer event. Whether you’re entering a team, cheering from the shore, or simply having a day out.
