The ‘Peter & Ann Setten’ Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat was launched at 8.44pm and arrived on the scene after locating the casualty vessel half a mile off Llanbedrog headland at 8.57pm.

To avoid any hazards and ensure the safety of other vessels the volunteer crew established a safe tow and returned the dinghy to the harbour slipway.

There were no persons on board and the dinghy had come free from its mooring alongside a visiting yacht at South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club due to the strong winds.

The crew left the scene at 9.08pm and returned to the lifeboat station at 9.24pm where the lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and left ready for service by the volunteer shore crew.

If you do get into difficulty, or spot someone else who appears to be in trouble, don’t hesitate and call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
