St Agnes RNLI lifeboat launches to tidal cut-off

Lifeboats News Release

RNLI volunteer crew members were paged on Sunday (25 May) at 1.12pm after reports of three people cut off at Basset’s Cove near Portreath.

In strong winds and substantial seas the D-class lifeboat was launched at 1.25pm. With the bit making steady way despite the sea state and a head wind it was reported that the casualties had self-recovered.

Having been stood down by HM Coastguard, Falmouth, the lifeboat returned to St Agnes where it was refueled and made ready for service by 2.20pm.
