Training success at Newbiggin RNLI

Mike and Chris took their respective training aspirations into reality following a rigorous assessment with the RNLI Trainer today. Tonight’s success follows on from months of training both ashore and afloat to ensure all aspects of the assessment challenges were addressed.

At the end of the assessment Chris passed his Tier 2 assessment, while Mike has passed out as a fully qualified Inshore Lifeboat Helm!

Ron Henderson, RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager for Newbiggin, said ‘These volunteer crew members have served the Newbiggin lifeboat and its community for a long time and their dedication has paid off. Well done to both of them. Thanks also to Lifeboat Trainer Matt who has supported these and our other volunteers throughout their training journey.’
