Queensferry RNLI Lifeboat Station to host annual Open Day
Queensferry RNLI is inviting the local community to a special Open Day on Saturday 29 June – and everyone’s welcome to come along and meet the amazing volunteers behind the lifeboat station.
Taking place on Sunday 29 June from 12pm to 4pm at Hawes Promenade, the Open Day offers a packed afternoon of fun, food and festivities, all while supporting the lifesaving work of Queensferry RNLI.
Visitors can enjoy a performance from a local pipe band, get involved in traditional games with the volunteer crew, and take in an impressive Newfoundland dog display. There will be something for everyone to enjoy - from face painting and home baking, to a tombola, lucky dips, a BBQ, and the much-loved RNLI shop.
There will also be the chance to hop aboard a Maid of Forth boat trip for an incredible view of the iconic Forth bridges.
Young ones can climb aboard emergency response vehicles and check out the station’s inshore lifeboat, while the RNLI’s face-to-face team will be on hand to share essential water safety advice.
Helen Feenan, Volunteer Fundraising Chair at Queensferry RNLI says: ‘This is a great opportunity for people to meet the team, learn more about what we do, and enjoy a brilliant family day out in the heart of South Queensferry.’
Helen adds: ‘We’re really looking forward to welcoming the community and celebrating the station’s vital role in keeping people safe on the water.’
Entry is free, with all proceeds raised on the day helping to fund Queensferry RNLI’s 24/7 search and rescue service to help save lives at sea.
