
Beaumaris RNLI tasked to undertake a search when an empty kayak seen at sea
At 12.22 pm on Monday 8 September 2025 the volunteer crew members of the Beaumaris lifeboat received a page from HM Coastguard relating to an unoccupied inflatable kayak seen on the Menai Strait.
The Mobile Coastguard teams from Bangor and Penmon had also been tasked and recovered the craft.
The lifeboat volunteers being asked to undertake a search between Beaumaris and Menai Bridge. As nothing was seen, the Coastguard released the lifeboat to return to station.
The lifeboat arrived back at 2.09 pm being refuelled and made ready for the next service call by 2.40 pm
A RNLI spokesperson said: ‘If your craft floats away and is unoccupied, please contact H.M. Coastguard to advise them, so that they are fully aware of the situation.’.
