HM Coastguard informed the station that a vulnerable person was missing and a car with keys in it had been found in a car at Happisburgh car park.

Russell Pickering was made ready for launching at 11.30 am with Chris Risby at helm and Pete Walker, Ellis Speirs and Harry Ronald as crew.

Chris Risby said 'We started a Shoreline search from Eccles to Bacton, then Bacton to Waxham, then one cable out from the beach search from Waxham to Bacton, then back to Cart Gap. A good effective search from all crew members rotating crew positions to maintain awareness on a two hour search.'

Nothing was found; the lifeboat was stood down by the Coastguard at 1.30 pm. Russell Pickering then returned to station where she was recovered, cleaned and refuelled and made ready for service again.

Later in the day Mundesley lifeboat was launched to carry out a second search but were also stood down.
