Celebrating 30 Years of Service
Teignmouth RNLI Volunteer awarded 30 year service medal
Last Thursday, 18 September, during one of our scheduled training exercises, our very own Charlie was presented with a medal by RNLI Area Operations Manager, Nigel Jones, in recognition of an incredible 30 years of dedicated service to the RNLI.
Charlie is one of our current Launch Authorities, authorising the launch of our lifeboat and volunteer crew when the call comes. Before this role, he gave over 13 years of leadership as our station Lifeboat Operations Manager.
Andy Lilburn, current LOM said “Thirty years of volunteering with the RNLI is an incredible achievement. Charlie’s dedication and commitment over so many years has made a huge difference to our station, our crew, and ultimately the people whose lives we’ve been able to save. On behalf of everyone here at Teignmouth RNLI I offer a heartfelt thank you and congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone.”Charlie made a short address when presented with the medal recognising his service and said how it was an ‘honour to volunteer for such a wonderful charity, and a privilege to serve alongside a great team of people’.
