The vessel's crew had issued a mayday call and the boat was listing after being pushed onto rocks by the swell. Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936 was monitoring from above with Rhosneigr Coastguard Rescue Team monitoring from the shore. The lifeboat was soon on scene, but thankfully the crew from the fishing boat had made it safely onto nearby rocks needing no medical assistance.

The lifeboat crew managed to recover a life raft and some equipment from the fishing boat that was in the water and returned to station.

Crew member Tomm Moffett said:

'The crew of the casualty vessel were well equipped with lifejackets, a life raft and means of calling for help. They did the right thing by contacting the Coastguard immediately when they got into danger. Thankfully no one was injured.

'If you are ever in difficulty, or see someone else in trouble at the coast or in the water, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.'
