Johnathon started his journey this morning from Happisburgh to raise money
Johnathon Jarvis, who is eight years old, is taking on his second walk to raise money for the RNLI.
Last year he walked from his home in Upwell, Norfolk to Hunstanton Lifeboat Station.
This year he is walking from Happisburgh Lifeboat Station, where his uncle is one of the station’s lifeboat launch authorities and a RNLI assessor. During the four days, he will walk around 52 miles to Hunstanton Lifeboat Station.
Johnathon’s mother said: ‘My son Johnathon is taking on the huge challenge, starting on 29 May to walk from Happisburgh RNLI Station to Hunstanton RNLI Station over four days. Johnathon is only eight and has been fundraising for the RNLI since he was five. Last year was his first big challenge of walking from our home in Upwell, Norfolk to Hunstanton Station which is 42 miles and he raised £3,150. We are very proud of Johnathon and wanted to share his efforts with you. Please feel free to look at Johnathon’s Facebook page for what he gets up to.’
This year, he set off from Happisburgh Station on Thursday 29 May and the first leg of his journey will see him arrive at Cromer.
Day two, he plans to visit Cromer RNLI Station and then set off to Blakeney via Sheringham.
Day three, they will leave Blakeney and head to Burnham Deepdale with a lunchtime stop at Wells RNLI Station.
Day four, they plan to arrive at Hunstanton RNLI Station around lunchtime.
Johnathon was waved farewell from Happisburgh RNLI Lifeboat Station at 8.30am on his morning of departure on his adventure, supported by our volunteers.
Johnathon was joined by Chris Risby, one of our helms, who walked with him in his seagoing kit to Happisburgh.
Before Johnathon left the Station, the Lifeboat Operations Manager, Rachael Kirkham, presented him with a crew kit bag which he will need to grow into. Tim Grimmer, one of our launch authorities, was one of the first to add to Johnathon’s collection box.
We would like to thank Johnathon for all his efforts in raising funds for the RNLI. If possible, please give him your support.
